Fleahab

Anyone who has ever been to a surf break, taken a lesson or seen a movie about surfing has probably heard of the famous big wave surfer, Flea. Flea has spent his life challenging himself on 50 foot waves but recently, he met an even greater challenge, rehab. After nearly killing himself with drugs and alcohol, Flea’s friends and family staged an intervention. When he was released from rehab, he decided to create change in his life and worked with various people to start “Fleahab”. Flea takes people in rehab to nearby beginner surf breaks and uses the sport as a tool to heal.

The Pat Tillman Foundation

Pat Tillman was an athlete, a hero and a man of great integrity. Today is Veteran’s day and AG is honored to recognize not only his service and athleticism but his impacting legacy through the Pat Tillman Foundation.

Inspired by the distinguished life and legacy of Pat Tillman - professional athlete, military hero and a man of strong character and kindness - the Pat Tillman Foundation seeks to create a community of scholars dedicated to improving their own lives, the lives of their families and their country by creating a spirit of service.

Our Vision and Approach
The Pat Tillman Foundation carries forward Pat’s legacy of leadership and civic action by supporting future generations of leaders who embody the American tradition of citizen service.

To honor Pat and young people like Pat, the Pat Tillman Foundation inspires others to create positive social change through its Leadership Through Action programs with scholarships and grants for veterans, active servicemembers, their families, and college students across the country.

Through military or civilian service an entire generation of youth has the capacity to improve their communities and their country…both now and throughout their lives. The Pat Tillman Foundation provides them with the resources and support to make a difference.

The Foundation’s mission is advanced through three Leadership Through Action initiatives:
Tillman Military Scholars, Tillman Scholars - Arizona State University, and Tillman Social Action Fund.

Through these programs we provide students the tools and support to reach their fullest potential as leaders.

Pablove

Childhood cancer is devastating for all who encounter it but especially for the parents of the child facing it. The Pablove Foundation is a light born out of this dark disease. Pablo lost his battle to cancer at an early age and his Dad is now doing something about it.

October 10, 2009, Pablo’s dad, Jeff Castelaz, along with his cycling coach, Rick Babington, will embark on a 3,100 mile ride spanning the entire US. They will start in St. Augustine, FL and in the course of 30 days on their bikes, make their way to Pablo’s grave at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles.

Pablove Across America is Jeff’s show of commitment to fighting kids’ cancer—and his need to wring out his soul of its sadness. Along the way, he’ll visit children’s hospitals to connect with cancer kids just like Pablo. He’ll promote cancer awareness on radio, television and in the written press. Anything to drive home the mission of the Pablove Foundation, and to keep Pablo’s spirit and boundless energy alive.

Pablove Across America is about standing up, hammering the pedals, speaking out and FIGHTING back—to raise awareness that kids get cancer, families need help and hope—hope not only to find a cure, but in the day-to-day grind of treatment.
