Olympians Giving Back

One of my favorite part about the Olympics is hearing all of the stories about athletes giving back. Here is one such story about Olympic snowboarder Hannah Teter

Long Treks on Skate Decks

These guys are taking it to the next level. The cool part is that they’re doing it in the name of fallen soldiers by raising money for “Help for Heroes”. Check out this video and definitely take a look at their website

Blindsight

It takes an amazing athlete to summit some of the highest peaks in the world. Imagine doing it blind. This is a documentary about a group of six blind Tibetan teenagers who set out to climb the 23,000-foot Lhakpa Ri on the north side of Mount Everest. Check out the trailer!

Patrick Henry Hughes

Often times athletes endure overwhelming mental challenges and the only thing to carry them through is a perspective on how much harder others have it. It’s a reminder that “if they can get through that, I can get through this.” This is one such story of perspective that will brighten your day. If Patrick’s attitude and his ability to overcome adversity doesn’t help you face your own challenges, you might need to watch it again.

Conquer the Canyon

The Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation is a wonderful foundation helping people living with spinal cord injuries. One of the amazing events they host is the “conquer the canyon” event. Very inspiring and worth a read!

Charlie Simpson Helps Haiti

Often, the silver lining in a huge tragedy like the one in Haiti is seeing everyone come together in the aftermath to help those in need. It’s humanity at its finest and Charlie Simpson, a sever year old athlete, is a prime example. Click HERE to read this heart warming article.

Tracy McGrady

Here’s an awesome story of an athlete who has a foundation but won’t stop there. He realized that for his own fulfillment he needed to travel to Darfur to make a difference. This is his documentary.
