It takes an amazing athlete to summit some of the highest peaks in the world. Imagine doing it blind. This is a documentary about a group of six blind Tibetan teenagers who set out to climb the 23,000-foot Lhakpa Ri on the north side of Mount Everest. Check out the trailer!
Often times athletes endure overwhelming mental challenges and the only thing to carry them through is a perspective on how much harder others have it. It’s a reminder that “if they can get through that, I can get through this.” This is one such story of perspective that will brighten your day. If Patrick’s attitude and his ability to overcome adversity doesn’t help you face your own challenges, you might need to watch it again.
The Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation is a wonderful foundation helping people living with spinal cord injuries. One of the amazing events they host is the “conquer the canyon” event. Very inspiring and worth a read!
I have always believed in the healing potential of outdoor sports and thus was immediately attracted to this foundation. They use surfing to enrich the lives of children with autism. Please take a look! Really cool stuff…

STOKED’s mission is to develop Successful Teens with Opportunity, Knowledge, Experience, and Determination through action sports and mentoring.
